Dear the Friends of Pushstart Wagon,

We love you guys. Really. We feel that this relationship is strong, but needs some sort of incentive plan to keep it going...so here goes, love via the incentive plan. (Please do not try this at home.)

First and foremost we want to give. We have SO MUCH TO GIVE IT HURTS!
The first 20 people to buy a ticket for our June 18th show at the Gig in Hollywood will receive a free copy of PASTE magazine. (see the link above)
That's right. The first 20. Only 20 though. Not 21. Not 22. Caller 19 will still receive a copy of the magazine, but after that it's tough luck, Bozo.
Did we also mention that you folk on our list can get a ticket AND the new CD for only $15?! Go to the "buy tickets" link above. You will be loved.

Does that mean if you're ticket buyer 21 you still don't get the love? Of course not. Ticket buyers 21 through 352 (that's optimism on our parts and the club's capacity) can approach the merch table at the conclusion of the show and say "Pushstart Wagon is not responsible for Ashton Kutcher!" quickly followed by "May I please have a copy of PASTE magazine? The first 10 of you to do this will receive a copy of PASTE magazine.

And right now, for those of you out of state and unable to attend, we will mail ONE COPY TO THE FIRST PERSON TO EMAIL US with the answer to this question: What is the first musical influence listed in our myspace account? Go! http://www.myspace.com/pushstartwagon
Any person outside of Southern California may apply for this...

Why do you want this magazine? It rules. It's really cool. We're on their CD sampler. That's right. Along with many well-respected artists and upcoming independents like ourselves. Here's a few of those featured: Spoon, Anna Nalick, Shelby LYnne, Sufjan Stevens, John Prine, etc.

PLUS you get a set of Ginsu steak knives. Ok. That's a lie. But the magazine DOES come with a DVD!! What?!! That's CRAZY!! Yes. A DVD with music videos, short film and tv previews, and music. Some of those featured on the DVD are: Aqualung, MIssy Higgins, Tegan & Sara, Morrisseey, Huskey Rescue, X, The Drive By Truckers, Johnny Cash, Nirvana (Interview segment), Paul Simon (inteview segment).

Did we mention that the magazine features Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkin's fame on the cover? Also featured are Beck, The Wallflowers, Oasis and hundreds of album reviews for band liek Bruce Springsteen, Weezer, The White Stripes, Coldplay, etc.

Look. We are going to rock. There will be no questions about the rock. We just want to pour out our love for you (and our obvious affinity for Paste magazine).

Not only will WE rock, but our fellow companions/fools/travellers/super-freaks, The Millbrook, will be playing. And they WILL rock.

Act now.

disclaimer...

r didn't set anything up and any reference to uber-technical is just an illusion

r is a 21st century six stringed jack kerouac, who has all of his website work done at night by robotic elves while he dreams of driving a convertible red 50's era thunderbird down an endless southwestern highway, chasing the vapor of his soul that begins where that highway fades.

(hey - it's better than the one where my lap steel turns into a medium sized stuffed animal)

Laura,

Where there's a will, there's a way. We'll mail it right to your house via the band...you can order it online at Paste Magazine (www.pastemusic.com) and then just search for us. You can also go to www.cdbaby.com/pushstart2 and order our CD.

So many ways to Pushstart.

Thanks for your interest. Where'd you hear of us?
