Get On Over To OurSpace, Yo.

Basically, I think I'll be using mostly Myspace blogging from now on.
Ocasionally I'll come back here, but posting in 15 different places becomes too insane, even for me.

So from now on, redirect yourself to our blog on Myspace.

We're Big With the Inmates

Well, maybe we are and maybe we aren't, but a couple of jailers in Oregon played us on two of their shows. This one and this one.

Seriously, they're funny. You should listen.

And back in August we were the featured artists on THIS show.
It's actually called This Show Again.

Enjoy!

So, it's been awhile. Deal with it.

The baby is sleeping, so rockstar father can now write something online without fear of doing something he shouldn't when he should be fathering.

We had a most excellent time playing in San Diego with Limbeck, Melee and Apollo Sunshine. I missed Limbeck because I had to rush home to help get my kids into a house they were locked out of (long story...too long).

Apollo Sunshine were amazing. Energy shot from the stage while bassist/cowbell mangler Jesse Gallagher (I think) beat his cowbell with relentless fury. Whoever it was, that guy was freakin' nuts. He hit a cowbell like nobody I know. It was intense, rhythmic, and NOT sucky in the least. Their music sounded to me like Wilco being experimental, but on one of it's earlier albums, with the stage antics/shenanigans of The Flaming Lips minus the large inflatable animals. Jesse made himself a basketball hoop at one point and threw a ball out for people to take shots on him. Nice.

Melee was very good also. Great stage presence. A bunch of fine looking lads who just signed some sort of major record deal with some major record label. They also have a myspace.

The guys in Limbeck were extremely nice and funny. I actually got to talk with their tour manager, Jon Cheese. He was freakin' awesome. Great guy. We just talked about music and stuff. He has his hand in a lot of rock and roll pie. You should see his website. JonCheese.com. Go now.

Oh. I'm playing a show by myself Tuesday and we the band will all be playing together on Friday. These will most likely be our last shows for quite some time. (Well, at least until 2006). We are actually working at getting together with some new bands and playing some shows. We are working on a few new songs. We are even thinking about "the next record". Crazy. Insane. But true.

Go to our myspace for more hot action.

Peace.

Here's the review. It's pretty nice. You should read it.

Here's our next show on November 18th in the San Diego area (La Jolla to be more precise). Start talking it up with your friends and figure out who's driving...

We will be playing to round off the night.

Hope to see you there.

Thoughts on the Hotel Cafe show

First, we've been podcast AGAIN. This time on Scents of Magic. The lady makes soap for a living, it sounds like. And she played Los Angeles, because clean ladies like Los Angeles, I guess. Listen here.

We've also received continual airplay on

Well, we played in the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood last night, at or past the stroke of midnight. We followed some extremely popular guy named Ernie Haltar who has 30,000+ friends on myspace. I think I finally figured out why: he used to play guitar for Clay Aiken...or something like that. Either way, the place was packed out when he played.

He had cookies with his name on them in the Green Room (that's the room that the artists can tune their guitars and get dressed and whatnot). His fans brought him birthday gifts. Crazy wild Aiken women!

Anyway, our show went great. There were several dedicated long-time friends/fans there and then several people who were just there for whatever other bands played or had just wandered into the club. The club itself was very cool, if not small.

The set list looked like this:

Transcendental Blues (new cover song by Steve Earle)
Paul
Open
Would I Be?
Defend You
Mary
Los Angeles
Country Star
Breathing Room
Radiation
American Girl (Tom Petty)

We also had the set recorded, so we may be posting some live songs on our Myspace page in the not too distant future. Watch for that.
